Maine Summit 2019 ~ Biddeford

Middle and high school teachers who have some basic knowledge and skill already with Google Classroom will be thrilled to see the number of online tools that make it simple to assign content to their classrooms right from the online tool. Participants should already have Google Classrooms set up and have had some experience with making assignments in them.

Attendees will explore up to fifteen different online tools that integrate with Google Classroom. They will have the chance to not only learn about these tools, but try their hand at creating some assignments for their classrooms using the content found within them.

Tools include video creation, reading comprehension, news sources, quizzes, and more. Even though all tools won't apply to all teachers, there are a few here for everyone & learning this concept while being on the lookout as more tools are integrated with Classroom will be super helpful!

Participants will be able to:
1) Access a webpage that includes links to, information about, and how to integrate with Google Classroom, online tools that are often used with middle and high school students.
2) Find content on these online educational tools and assign it to a previously set up classroom.
3) Explore these online tools beyond the workshop session using the Google Site I have set up.

In this session, attendees will harness the power of Add-ons in Google Sheets and Google Forms to improve workflow efficiencies. The session will focus on 5 Add-ons, Autocrat, Choice Eliminator 2, docAppender, Doctopus and Goobric. This session is ideal for teachers who want to use a form to grade an assignment or log information and have that information update on a Google Doc for a student. These Add-ons also streamline assessment. This is an intermediate session and participants should have a working knowledge of Google Forms, Google Classroom and Google Sheets.

In this session, participants will add a series of Add-ons and learn how to use them to be more efficient and productive with data collection and assessments.

Attendees will successfully install a series of Add-ons to both Google Sheets and Google Forms.
Attendees will successfully use Autocrat to create a Google Doc for a list of students.
Attendees will successfully create a Google Form with questions and have the form results populate a specific Google Doc for a specific student.
Attendees will successfully create a Google Form with questions for assessment and have the form Eliminate the name of the student who has been graded in order to efficiently move through a task such as scoring an oral presentation.
Attendees will use Doctopus and Goobric with a Google Classroom writing assignment to efficiently use a rubric to assess student work and digitally share the rubric score with students. No trees needed!
